Artist Statement – Gentle Rhythm
Gentle Rhythm emerges from a quiet, attentive space where movement and stillness coexist. Swirling rhythms of coolness flow across the surface, carrying a soft whimsy of color that drifts rather than insists. Orbs and teardrop forms appear and dissolve, like breaths, prayers, or moments of awareness passing through.
The painting is guided by repetition and intuitive mark-making, allowing rhythm to unfold naturally. There is no destination—only a gentle unfolding, a listening to the subtle pulse beneath the surface. The forms suggest connection and continuity, inviting the viewer into a contemplative state where time slows and the body responds before the mind names anything.
Gentle Rhythm offers a space for quiet presence, where motion becomes meditation and simplicity opens into something deeply felt and alive.
