Patti Belanger

Patti Belanger is a multifaceted Métis fine artist and accomplished hairstylist residing in Penetanguishene, Ontario. With a successful career spanning over 25 years in hairstyling, Patti has received numerous awards for her exceptional work. Patti is a member of the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts, and she is also actively involved in the Kooshkopayiw Métis Art Collective, where she plays a pivotal role in organizing art crawls, fundraising events, and exhibitions within her local Métis community as well as outside of her community.

Patti's artistic talents have been widely recognized, with her original works exhibited at esteemed venues such as the Midland Cultural Centre, the Muskoka Discovery Centre, Thunder Bay Art Gallery, Hamilton Library, Government of Ontario Art Collection, social media platforms, promotional materials, her own gallery, and various festivals and events. Known for her ability to capture the unique essence of her subjects, she regularly undertakes bespoke commissions, showcasing her remarkable talent and artistic vision.

Embracing techniques like pointillism, using mixed media, and beadwork, Patti infuses her pieces with vibrant colours and Métis culture, paying tribute to her heritage and the breathtaking Georgian Bay area where she resides. Her distinctive style, honed over three decades, breathes life into every canvas, embodying the spirit of her ancestors and the natural landscapes she holds dear. Through her creative endeavours, Patti intertwines her passion for art, her faith, and her Indigenous identity, leaving an indelible mark on the art world and inspiring audiences with her captivating visual storytelling.
