This painting, The Offering, is a reflection of faith, gratitude, and honour. As a Métis artist, I am guided by my heritage, my love for the land and water, and my deep faith in God, our Creator. The figure raises a feather in reverence — a symbolic gift of thanks, acknowledging the sacred connection between spirit, creation, and humanity.
The act of offering is both personal and communal, a reminder that all we have is a gift from God. Through colour, texture, and movement, this work expresses gratitude for life, for creation, and for the guidance of the Creator. The Offering honours the beauty of nature and the spiritual traditions that teach us to live with respect, humility, and thankfulness.
