Amber Sky — Artist Statement

Amber Sky explores the dance of wind and Spirit, moving across the sky in endless currents of colour, light, and rhythm. The swirling forms suggest movement that cannot be seen but can be felt—the wind moving through the trees, the changing energy of the sky, and the presence of Spirit moving through all of creation.

The vibrant amber, gold, copper, rose, and earthy tones create a sky alive with movement and warmth. Beneath it, the dark silhouette of the landscape provides a quiet foundation, grounding the movement of wind and Spirit in the land. The trees stand as witnesses—rooted, resilient, and connected to the earth while reaching toward the ever-changing sky.

Through my Contemporary Pointillism, thousands of individual painted points come together to create the larger movement of the work. Inspired in part by the rhythm and visual language of Métis beadwork, each mark becomes part of a greater whole—reminding me that individual moments, stories, and spirits are all connected.

For me, Amber Sky is a meditation on connection, movement, and faith: the earth beneath us, the sky above us, and the Spirit that moves between them.
