Artist Statement — Song of the Golden Sky
Song of the Golden Sky is a meditation on light as presence—alive, moving, and quietly sacred. The sky becomes a living song, swirling with rhythm and warmth, carrying a sense of blessing as it pours toward the land and water below. Dotted currents and circular forms suggest vibration and breath, echoing the unseen energies that connect sky, earth, and spirit.
The silhouetted pines stand as witnesses—rooted, resilient, and listening—while the water receives and reflects the golden light in gentle, flowing patterns. Together, sky, land, and water form a relationship of harmony and belonging, where light is not simply seen, but felt.
This painting is rooted in place and memory, inspired by the familiar shores and skies of Georgian Bay. It reflects a personal and spiritual understanding of landscape as a living companion—one that holds prayer, song, and the quiet assurance of being held within something greater.
